Jurgen Klopp has ruled out a transfer on the deadline day, with his views focussing on the season fully.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has squashed Philippe Coutinho’s return, thereby putting links to bed. The Brazilian is linked with a Premier League return, but the former Borussia Dortmund manager is focussed on the season.
The 27-year-old spent five years in Liverpool before sealing a record 142 million transfer to Barcelona. He made 201 appearances and was part of the side which missed out on the Premier League title in 2014, and the league cup and Europa League final under Jurgen Klopp three years back.
Ever since that big-money move to Catalonia, the former Inter Milan midfielder has failed to fail to match the on-field expectations. His agent said that he’d be open to Liverpool return, but hinted at the toughness of the deal.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference against Norwich City, Klopp said: “No answer, I don’t make big comments on these things. And it’s not really likely we will do (any business) – if you want more excitement go to Everton!”
Philippe Coutinho was also linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, but remains likely to stay at Barcelona.
Since clinching the Champions League, the Reds faithful were expecting big names in the summer, but it has been the vice versa. Jurgen Klopp has signed former West Ham shot-stopper Adrian as a backup to Alisson Becker following Simon Mignolet’s departure to Club Brugge.
The reigning Champions League winners have also signed Sepp Van de Berg from Eredivisie, while Harvey Elliot signed from Fulham. The Liverpool boss has confirmed that about the nil movements in the final day of the transfer window.
“We will not make signings just for…signing somebody – it makes no sense.” added Klopp.

What’s next?
Philippe Coutinho is linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain, but it remains to be seen. The Brazilian was not part of the squad against Napoli in a friendly game.
