After the hiccups in the opening encounter, Team India managed to get the better of the visitors Lankans to level the three-match ODI series 1-1 at the PCA Stadium, Mohali.

Rohit Sharma’s third double delight was the ultimate highlight of the match. Started off with no runs in his first over and garnered a double century in the 50th over.
Angelo Mathews from Sri Lanka absolutely played terrific innings to cover Sri Lanka’s lacklustre to some extent. India registered a handsome 141-run victory.
With both teams levelling on terms of the contest, there could be one heck of a blast in the third and final ODI at the VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam on December 17.
Let’s take a glimpse at the player ratings between India and Sri Lanka:
India:
#1. Rohit Sharma (c) – 10/10
The Indian interim skipper got everything right from the match. Excelled with the bat, led his team to level the series with his staggering 208* (13 fours, 12 sixes)
#2. Shikhar Dhawan – 8/10
Shikhar Dhawan’s crispy start gave the much-needed tempo to the Men in Blue to drive forward. His impressive 68 (9 sixes) to put a century-plus stand with Rohit Sharma was just amazing to watch.
#3. Shreyas Iyer – 8.5/10
Shreyas Iyer proved worth for his incredible 87. His 215-run partnership with Rohit Sharma silenced Sri Lanka’s all-round bowling attack.
#4. MS Dhoni (wk) – 7/10
Though he didn’t contribute much as Rohit was in full flow, he was sharp behind the stumps and unofficially skippered the match in crunch situations.
#5. Hardik Pandya 7/10
Hardik Pandya got a limited opportunity to bat because of top-order batting effect. He picked a wicket and scored 8 runs to his name.
#6. Dinesh Karthik – 6/10
Didn’t bat as the top order did enough damage to the opposition. He took a sharp catch.
#7. Manish Pandey – 5/10
Manish Pandey too didn’t bat as well. He managed to stick to the groundwork and performed customary fielding moves.
#8. Washington Sundar – 7/10
Good start by Washington Sundar to get a wicket on his debut.
#9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 7.5
He picked a wicket to his name and was quite economical as well.
#10. Jasprit Bumrah – 8/10
Stuck to his probe bowling variations as he picked 2 handy wickets to his credit.
#11. Yuzvendra Chahal – 9/10
Chahal was the pick of the bowlers. He claimed three wickets.
Sri Lanka:
#1. Danushka Gunathilaka – 2/10
As an opener, he failed to convert the start. His paltry score of 16 causes chaos to Sri Lanka early on in the innings.
#2. Upul Tharanga – 1/10
Impressed in the first match but didn’t do so in today’s match. His score of 7 was not really enough to nudge the players further down the pecking order to pace the innings.
#3. Lahiru Thirimanne -3/10
Thirimanne looked good as he started a tad slowly. After scoring 21, he got clean bowled off the debutant Washington Sundar.
#4. Angelo Mathews – 9/10
Angelo Mathews was by far the solo warrior for Sri Lanka. He won the fans’ hearts with an epic century. The sad part is that he couldn’t get any help from the other end.
#5. Niroshan Dickwella (wk) – 4/10
Dickwella was sharp and played with an strike-rate of above 100. But his 22 couldn’t help the Lankans to sail the boat.
#6. Asela Gunaratne – 6/10
Gunaratne tried his best to hunker in there alongside Mathews. He scored a 30-ball 34.
#7. Thisara Perera (c) – 7/10
Sri Lankan skipper was absolutely clueless as compared to the previous match. Along with poor captaincy, he followed it up with a mediocre 5 runs to his name. But he was good with the ball as he was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped three wickets.
#8. Sachith Pathirana – 5/10
He picked a wicket other than that, there was nothing much of his presence with the bat whose melancholic 2 runs didn’t do well down the order.
#9. Akila Dananjaya – 2/10
Absolutely disappointing from Akila Dananjaya. He didn’t pick a wicket and did nothing much with the bat as well. A 11-ball 17 was all that he could manage to put up.
#10. Suranga Lakmal – 2/10
After receiving the man of the match award in the first ODI, he couldn’t just spur it on in today’s match.
#11. Nuwan Pradeep – 0/10
Pathetic bowling performance from Nuwan Pradeep. He leaked 106 runs which he needs to work a lot before it is too late.
