Liverpool News: Arsene Wenger explains why Liverpool are struggling to end their title drought

Arsene Wenger has explained his concerns regarding Liverpool’s battle against the title drought.

Arsene Wenger is one of the best managers in the generation, but his record over the last three years with the Gunners was the major reason for engaging nemesis within Arsenal’s fanbase.

With a low budget, he was able to beat to churn out three league titles by beating the huge Manchester United managed by Sir Alex Ferguson in the early 2000s. But, with a large amount of money pumped into the Premier League, he struggled to keep up with the likes of Chelsea and Red Devils.

During his 22-year stay in London, he faced plenty of fierce encounters with Liverpool, but the Frenchman always admitted that he always likes to club. Currently with Bein Sports as a pundit, Wenger has said that he is ‘scared’ for Liverpool as the Reds look likely to miss out on the accolade yet again.

There are still two games to go, but Arsene Wenger is worried for the Reds faithful by reiterating that only the destiny is against them.

“There’s still hope but they go to Newcastle. Newcastle is not an easy place for liverpool. I’m scared for Liverpool even with one game to go that Manchester City will already have won it but they will fight until the end.

“It looks like there’s a destiny that is against Liverpool. They dominated for such a long period in English football and suddenly from 89-90 until today they cannot win the Premier League. Every time there is small things against them.” said Wenger.

Liverpool will play Newcastle and Wolverhampton in the last two games of the Premier League, whilst the Citizens will face Leicester City and Brighton and Hove Albion. Anything can happen in football, but Pep Guardiola’s side are looking relentless in their pursuit of back-to-back league titles.

The Reds are projecting to 97 points in the league and there is not much they could ask for. The Spanish manager is demanding such high standards in the league as they prepare to lift their second league title in two years.
