The Parisian club will hope that the Senegalese midfielder will be an ideal replacement for the outgoing Adrien Rabiot. Rabiot has not played for them since December after informing them of his intention to run down his contract and leave as a free agent this summer.

Gueye has shown interest in playing for the French side and even travelled to Paris on the final day of the transfer window in the hope of a late deal being agreed. However, Everton rejected the £27 million bid for the defensive midfield player.

Now that Everton have signed Andre Gomes from Barcelona, PSG are hoping that they will be more open to parting with Gueye now. The Sun are reporting that the French Champions have offered Everton a £27m bid. However, Everton want at least £35m before considering the move.

Idrissa Gueye joined Everton 3 years ago and has impressed in his stay at Merseyside. The 29-year-old is their current player of the year and still has three years remaining on his £75,000-a-week contract. However, his desire to play champions league football could see the Senegalese put pressure on Everton to make the sale.

Idrissa Gueye is currently on national duty, playing for Senegal at the African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
