CSK’s return after their two-year hiatus has been a wonderful sight for IPL fans, as the Chennai fans have seen their heroes bring back memories of their glory days in the competition.

But things took a turn for the worse, as the Cauvery protesters have forced the IPL to shift Chennia’s home matches from the Chepauk.

The fans are very upset as the home matches of CSK were shifted to Pune. The protesters threw shoes into the stadium that raised concerns over players’ safety and audience security. Hence, the management was forced to shift the matches out of the city.

The home matches were shifted to the MCA stadium, but the issues are raised in Pune as well. It is the summer season and this time Maharastra suffers adequate water shortage. Due to this, it is not possible to provide gallons of water just for the pitch and ground maintenance.

The MCA admitted that they were asked to take water from irrigation department for maintenance of ground and pitch to host six games o IPL. But the Bombay High Court has ordered the MCA to use sewage treated water and not the drinking water.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had admitted its failure to provide any special water for the conduct of six home games of CSK.

Refusing to provide any additional water after CSK’s matches were shifted to the Gahunje stadium, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority on Saturday asked the MCA to confirm the “sources of water” that is to be used.

“A detailed letter has been written to the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), asking how they will arrange water for maintaining the ground for the IPL matches. They will have to give us the water sources and we will verify them.” Kiran Gitte, PMRDA chief was quoted as saying by timesnownews.com.

The conduct of CSK home matches at Pune remains doubtful. If MCA fails to provide the proper source of water to be used, CSK may have to look another ground for their home matches. CSK have won 2 games out of 3 so far this year.

The other options include Thirvanthapuram and Nagpur, as CSK may have to look for another home ground this season.
