PV Sindhu wins the Korea Open 2017
PV Sindhu avenged her World Championship loss by defeating Nozomi Okuhara in the finals of Korean Open Super Series 2017 played at Seoul.
It was an amazing match which went for 1 hour and 23 minutes with both players fighting for each point.
In the first game, Sindhu started on a positive note taking a 2-0 lead before Okuhara levelled the score at 2-2. The World Championship silver medallist took 3 points in succession to take a 5-2 lead.
The Japanese player fought back well to reduce the gap to 4-5. Both players fought for each point with Okuhara taking a 11-9 lead at the mid game interval. After the interval, Sindhu showed great courage and equalled the score at 12-12.

Both players fought for each point with Okuhara leading 20-18. Sindhu took 4 points in succession to win the first set 22-20. In this game, a 42 rally shots was played between these two players.
The second game started on a positive note for the Japanese player taking an early 4-1 lead. Sindhu made lots of mistakes with Okuhara playing well. Okuhara led 11-6 at the mid game interval.
After the interval, World Championship winner continued to dominate Sindhu and won the second set 21-11.
In the third game, it was again neck to neck fight with both players fighting for each point as the scores were equal at 4-4. Sindhu showed her aggression and did not allow the World Championship winner to enter into the game.
At the mid game interval, Sindhu had a 11-5 lead. After the interval, Okuhara fought back well with both players showing great Spirit with long rallies.
At the 18-16, both players had a 56 rally shot but the point went to Sindhu. Despite Okhuara playing well, Sindhu won the third set 21-18.
PV Sindhu won her maiden Korean Open Super Series title. It was another amazing match between these two players. 3 weeks back, both players displayed a marathon match of 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Result
PV Sindhu defeated Okuhara- 22-20,11-21,21-18.
