Quinton de Kock dismissal vs NZ: Watch South African opener gets bowled by Trent Boult's jaffa

Quinton de Kock dismissal vs NZ: The South African opening batsman was found wanting against Trent Boult’s pace and swing.

During the 25th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between New Zealand and South Africa at Edgbaston, New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult drew first blood as he dismissed South Africa opening batsman Quinton de Kock in his first over itself.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the second over when de Kock had no answer whatsoever against Boult’s in-swinging delivery which not just bowled him but saw the stumps flying all over the place.

Lack of feet moment in addition to de Kock leaving significant gap between his bat and pad were the major reasons behind the southpaw getting out cheaply. His brief stay in the middle saw him score 5 (8) with the help of one four.

While Boult has been making the ball talk at will in this tournament, he wasn’t very successful in dismissing the opposition batsmen. Receiving an early wicket and that of de Kock must have come as a relief for the left-arm fast bowler.

Losing de Kock early in the tournament came as a huge blow for the Proteas for he was their highest run-scorer in the tournament before the start of this match. The early wicket was followed by South Africa losing wickets at regular intervals.
