Rajasthan Royals are in a precarious position currently. They need to win their last match but that would not ensure their qualification. Royals have to hope that KKR, KXIP and SRH end up on 12 points after Sunday night’s match.
They will be without the services of their skipper, Steven Smith and it will be interesting to see who is asked to lead in this match. Also, the batting hole left by Smith will be hard to fill.

RR Top-order
Ajinkya Rahane has batted well in the last few matches. He would want to play a good innings with some maturity as well as take care of the run rate. Being the senior-most pro in the team, he has to take more responsibility. He might lead RR again in this match after being asked to step down mid-way through the tournament.

Liam Livingstone has batted well at the opening slot in the few opportunities afforded to him. He should look to play another quick fire innings. Sanju Samson should come in at No. 3 and play a steady knock and guide the inexperienced middle order of Rajasthan in this match. He has to take up a lot of responsibility as well.
RR Middle-order
Rahul Tripathi will be replacing Steven Smith at No. 4 in all probability. He lends some stability to the middle order although it isn’t comparable to Smith’s role at this position. Riyan Parag has contributed a lot in the second half of the IPL and should look to continue the same in this match as well.
Mahipal Lomror and Stuart Binny will complete the middle order of the Royals. Shreyas Gopal can tonk a few balls towards the end as well.
RR Bowlers
Considering the assistance to spin on the Kotla pitch, Shreyas Gopal would be expected to play a significant role in this match. He is coming off a hat-trick and he would be extremely confident. Ish Sodhi should come into the squad as well in place of Varun Aaron whose extra pace might help batsmen score off him.

Riyan Parag, Liam Livingstone and Mahipal Lomror can all contribute to the spin department significantly as well. Jaydev Unadkat and Oshane Thomas would form the pace attack and should look to take the pace off the ball more often than not.
Stuart Binny can also chip in with his medium pacers. The bowling attack of RR looks pretty strong for a wicket like the Kotla.
