Ashwin expresses desire of featuring on Koffee With Karan

Ashwin expresses desire of featuring on Koffee With Karan: The Indian off-spinner is all in to attend the talk show.

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has expressed desire of appearing on renowned chat show named ‘Koffee With Karan’. Hosted by Bollywood director-producer Karan Johar, the show primarily features Bollywood celebrities as guests.

It was an exception this year when India all-rounder Hardik Pandya and opening batsman Lokesh Rahul had made an appearance on the show in the recently concluded season.

The episode comprising of the cricketers had stirred a major row across social media platforms regarding the cricketers’ misogynist comments. The consequences of the same were that the duo was suspended from playing any form of cricket related to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

This was followed by the cricketers submitting unconditional apology to the BCCI for their words. While their bans were eventually lifted, the whole incident had allured comments from India captain Virat Kohli and veteran India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Ashwin voiced his opinion when one of his fan asked him if he would like to attend the show on social media platform Instagram. “Sure,” Ashwin’s reply read on the same story.

Ashwin looking forward to IPL 2019

Not part of India’s limited-overs squad since the tour of West Indies in 2017, the 32-year old cricketer had recently participated in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In six matches for Tamil Nadu, Ashwin dismissed seven batsmen at an average of 24, an economy rate of 7 and a strike rate of 20.57.

Ashwin would also be looking forward to lead his IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab for the second time this season. With the franchise not winning a single title since 2008, the skipper would be keen to make amends this time round.
