Team India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has slammed the Cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar for his comments over his role in the current Indian Cricket team set-up in particular, and in the World Cup squad at large.
Manjrekar, who is currently a part of the commentary panel of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, had shared his views the all-rounder’s role in the 2019 World Cup squad, and had in fact called him a ‘Bits and pieces’ player.

In an interaction with the the news agency AINS prior to India’s match versus Bangladesh on Tuesday, the 53-year-old commentator opined that he is not a fan of a ‘bits and pieces’ player like Jadeja, and that he does not consider him fit for his inclusion in the ‘Playing 11’ for the World Cup.
Saying that, he also added that he considers him as a pure bowler in the Test format.
“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar was quoted as saying by IANS.
What did Jadeja reply?
Perhaps agitated with his comments on his role in the side, Ravindra Jadeja has hit back at the former cricketer for his comments. Clearly hurt by Manjrekar’s opinion, Jadeja, through his Twitter handle, tweeted that he has played twice the number of matches than he (Manjrekar) did his entire career, and that he is still playing.
He further handed him a piece of advice that he should learn to respect people who have achieved something in their life an that he has had enough of his verbal diarrhoea.
