Can RCB qualify for IPL 2019 playoffs

Can RCB qualify for IPL 2019 playoffs: The Sportsrush presents before you Royal Challengers’ prospects of qualifying for IPL 2019 playoffs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have a knack of not playing according to their potential in the Indian Premier League. It is a primary reason behind them not winning a single IPL title despite playing the tournament since its first edition in 2008.

RCB started their IPL 2019 campaign with six losses in as many matches. In what was an unexpected manner of commencing their season, RCB seemed likely to be bereft of playoffs at the halfway stage itself.

Since then, Bangalore have won four out of six matches in a bid to gain some momentum (and respect) in the tournament. Overall, with four wins in 12 matches, RCB are still reeling at the bottom of the points table.

While they had a chance of bettering their position in the afternoon by defeating Delhi Capitals in Delhi, they failed to chase down a 188-run target to make things daunting for them.

Can RCB qualify for IPL 2019 playoffs

It is almost impossible for a team to qualify for the playoffs with just 12 points or six wins. That being said, Royal Challengers have a chance of doing the inevitable. In what won’t be a mean task RCB depend heavily on how the other teams will play than their own performance.

It goes without saying that Royal Challengers will have to win both their matches. Among the other teams, one out of Chennai Super Kings or Delhi Capitals will have to win all their matches. On the other hand, the teams reeling alongside Bangalore at the bottom will have to lose their matches.

Going by the above mentioned calculation, Royal Challengers will still have to have a better Net Run Rate than Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders. If they manage to do so, RCB will qualify for the playoffs alongside Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

There is no hiding to the fact that the criteria isn’t simple for Bangalore but it remains the only option for them to qualify.
