Anthony Martial is one of the most exciting young players in the world right now, and should be having a barnstorming season ahead of the World Cup in a couple of months time from now.
But things have not gone to plan for the Frenchman, as he looks a little disillusioned under Jose Mourinho this season. After a sensational debut season under Louis Van Gaal, Martial has failed to reproduce that sort of form again for Manchester United.
He was clearly not happy when he had to give up his jersey number to Zlatan Ibrahimovic last season, as he had to let go of his number nine and take up Ryan Giggs’ legendary number eleven shirt.
In spite of scoring 11 goals in 22 starts this season, Martial still finds himself on the sidelines at Old Trafford from time to time this season. There is also a belief that Jose is not getting the best out of Martial, as the Portuguese has stifled the attacker through his defensive instructions.
Martial is now looking to leave the club, as he is frustrated with his lack of playing time over the season. The arrival of Alexis Sanchez has also upset the Frenchman, as this will see him getting even less time on the field.
Real Madrid have apparently made an initial inquiry for Martial, as Zidane is a big fan of the gifted attacker. Martial is also very interested in Madrid, and is seriously considering his options after the World Cup.
