Real Madrid News: Thibaut Courtois anxiety related problems revealed after half-time substitution vs Brugge

Thibaut Courtois has been diagnosed with anxiety problems after conceding two against Club Brugge in the Champions League.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was taken off during half-time against Club Brugge on Tuesday. The Los Blancos conceded two goals in the first half, and he had to be replaced by Alphonse Areola.

Neither Zinedine Zidane nor any one of Courtois teammates provided an update on the reason for Thibaut Courtois substitution. It is believed that the Belgian is struggling to overcome anxiety and the hosts had no other option than taking him off.

According to the local publication OkDiario, several medical tests on the shot-stopper confirmed that he’s suffering from anxiety. When he entered the dressing room during the half-time, medical staff confirmed that he’s dizzy and had to be taken off to abscond from a setback.

He was in such bad condition and left the stadium during the half-time against Brugge. Besides, Courtois was also driven out of the stadium by his father because of this huge issue.

The former Chelsea goalkeeper also failed to train with his teammates on Thursday – owing down to this issue. On the official website, it reported that he trained inside with the goalkeeping coach rather than mentioning this ongoing problem.

He has also missed two training sessions ever since then and there are nil chances of witnessing him taking part against Granada in the weekend.

Since there are many who accuse him of inferior performances, which he didn’t show with Chelsea or during his national team duty with Belgium in the World Cup, constant criticism has been aimed at him. Besides, the form of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Jan Oblak has angered the Real Madrid fans and are frustrated over his displays.

However, the Belgian has had constant backing from Zinedine Zidane, who at the beginning at the season made it clear that he would be the first choice, which accelerated the move of Keylor Navas to Paris Saint Germain.
