Real Madrid News: Zinedine Zidane confesses that rumours of a Jose Mourinho return bother him ahead of the clash against Galatasaray.
Zinedine Zidane was once a man who bathed in glory. His first coaching assignment was with Real Madrid of all teams. The Frenchman did not disappoint with the mammoth task in hand as he led them to 3 consecutive Champions League victories.

In doing so, he has become the first person to win the coveted European championship thrice in its current format. He left the Santiago Bernabeu smelling of roses and the fans clamoured for his return once the club fell apart in the wake of his departure.
However, his return has been the exact opposite of his first tenure with the club. Despite having an open wallet for the summer transfer window, the Frenchman has failed to take the club out of the hole it has fallen into.
He has been put under further pressure after Real Madrid’s abject surrender to Mallorca on Saturday. Rumors of Zidane being replaced by Jose Mourinho have since gotten louder with many claiming that his job could be on the line in the match against Galatasaray tonight.

Ahead of the Champions League match against Galatasaray, Zidane finally opened up on the rumors surrounding his job security.
“In football, people forget what you’ve done in the past,”
“The important thing is the present…I’m not going to say it doesn’t bother me what is being said about other coaches, because it does.
“But what I have to do as a coach is to give everything, get the players to do the same, to give everything – and that’s all I can do.”
When asked if defeat could mean the end of his second tenure in charge of the club, Zidane replied:
“I don’t know. You can’t ask me that. All I can do is try and be here as long as I can. I want to be here forever.
“It’s a great game to play in, a great stadium, Champions League…we know what the situation is and we’re going to try and win.
“We started badly in the Champions [League] but we’ve got a chance tomorrow to prove ourselves and that’s what we are going to try and do.
“I’ve been here 18 years as a player and a coach. I know how things are. Pressure is always with you so we have to go out and prepare well for the game.”
