Force India to change its name before the Belgian GP, reports suggest, but that would mean giving up on this year’s prize money.

Force India is experiencing a tumultuous time in the sport. While the team was brought out of administration by a Lawrence Stroll led consortium, new administrative and legal issues seem to have cropped up.

The team has already dropped the sponsor’s name, as it changed the name of its Facebook page two days back, from Sahara Force India to just Force India.

However, the team truck now seems devoid of the name ‘Force India’ as well, with reports circulating that the team might actually undergo a name change before the Belgian GP.

Now, Stroll and co. own all the assets but don’t quite own the entry name and thus Force India could be forced to pull out of the Belgian GP.

Now, if Force India want to enter the Belgian GP, they’ll have to compete under a new name. However, that would mean forfeiting the stipulated prize money for this season, something that could hurt the new owners massively.

In a recent development, the name Sahara Force India has actually been done away with from the trucks of the team, and thus journalists all around the world have speculated that the team could race under a new banner.

What do you think will be Force India’s fate?
