Reports: Junior Dala replaces Dushmanth Chameera in RR squad

Rajasthan Royals had already lost their captain Steve Smith due to infamous circumstances before the start of tournament.

After their horrible loss in their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, more unfortunate news awaits for them. RR overseas recruit of pace battery Dushmantha Chameera and Jofra Archer have both got injured. While Chameera is most likely to miss entire tournament, Archer is still recovering from injury and he hasn’t even showed up at the RR camp yet.

Sources have revealed that RR are looking towards latest South African pace sensation Junior Dala.

Dala made his debut just couple of months ago for Proteas against India and he was a breath of fresh air, after South Africa was humbled by India in the ODI series in their own backyard.

Dala took 7 wickets in just 3 matches, also claiming the prized wicket of Virat Kohli during the series

News of Dala’s probable move to Rajasthan Royals caught eye when he followed RR’s instagram page.  

The same had happened with Tom Curran and he eventually made his debut for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against CSK on Tuesday. Though nothing is official yet as far as Dala’s case is concerned but as of now, it seems most likely.     

Rajasthan Royals have also lost their overseas chinaman Zahir Khan, who turned many heads by his foxy bowling for Afghanistan.

Junior Dala has a knack of picking up early wickets and he can be very useful for RR in IPL 2018, however, we will have to wait for official confirmation about his status as an IPL and a Rajasthan Royals player.
