This was a poor piece of defending from Cahill who got all his angles wrong and ended up showing Richarlison to his stronger foot. However, this takes nothing away from the Brazilian who displayed maturity and composure beyond his age to score yet another goal.
Earlier in the match, Everton scored the first goal through Bernard in the 18th minute after firing in a fine cross from Theo Walcott. The sides left the park at half-time with the score line in favour of the hosts. However, the Eagles would equalize soon after the break.
In the 51st minute of the match, Wilfried Zaha played Benteke in with a brilliant through ball. Benteke, who had previously gone 34 matches in the Premier League without scoring, sent in a tame effort. However, Everton keeper Jordan Pickford allowed the ball to somehow go through his legs. This allowed the visitors to mount a comeback before Richarlison struck with a beauty.
