During the final match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in Dubai, Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant dumped his poor form to score a 12th IPL half-century in a vital situation.
Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the fourth over, an out-of-touch Pant stitched a 98-run partnership for the fourth wicket alongside captain Shreyas Iyer. With the first 16 deliveries that Pant faced, he was busy running singles and converting some of them into doubles.
It was eventually in the 10th over when the southpaw took to the attack against Mumbai Indians all-rounder Krunal Pandya. Having hit a six down the ground off the second delivery, Pant sat on one knee to slog Pandya for another six before closing the over.
What followed was Pant frequently collecting boundaries against almost all opposition bowlers to up the ante at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It was on the fourth delivery of the 14th over when Pant hit a boundary off Indians pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile to complete his maiden half-century of this season.
While Delhi would have hoped for Pant to continue with his heroics, it wasn’t to be as he ended up hitting the ball to Hardik Pandya in the same over. The 23-year old player ended up scoring 56 (38) with the help of four fours and two sixes.

Pant having found his best form in the final, falls just when the fielding side was wilting. Played a wonderful hand though

If Rishabh Pant just trusts his talent and avoids unconventional shots all the time he would score every match ! Well played . #DCvMI
