Robin Singh on MS Dhoni: Former India all-rounder has advocated for Dhoni playing in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s spot in the Indian team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 has become an issue of debate for both fans and former cricketers.

While the fans appear to be divided over Dhoni’s position in the team, a majority of current and former cricketers have advocated for Dhoni to be present in the team.

There is no hiding to the fact that Dhoni has not been in the best of forms of late. Although his fitness and inputs during the game are highly admired, his batting has come under the scanner. From scoring runs to scoring them at a brisk pace, Dhoni has struggle considerably to the extent that 2018 is one of his worst year in ODI cricket.

Among the latest former cricketers to express an opinion on Dhoni is former India all-rounder in Robin Singh. In an interview with Sport360, Singh batted for Dhoni’s inclusion in the World Cup team. “Dhoni should be there [at the World Cup]. Those who were given opportunities have not stamped their authority,” Singh was quoted.

The 55-year old was confident of India’s chances in the world event but also didn’t rule out England being a tough competitor in their own backyard. “India are one of the front-runners. England are a very good side, they have been playing very good cricket. In their conditions they are extremely good,” Singh said.
