Manchester United were held to a frustrating draw by Chelsea last night. Romelu Lukaku, the side’s forward, made further controversy as he failed to guarantee his future at the club.
Manchester United’s season has taken a massive hit in the last few weeks. Ever since the win against PSG at Parc des Princes, the performances went downhill.
Manchester United conceded defeats in 7 of their last 10 games, and dropped further two points in the last night’s game against Chelsea. Despite making a bright start and scoring early through Juan Mata, United failed to raise the tempo after De Gea’s error gave Chelsea the equalizer.
Romelu Lukaku made a start in the game but struggled with fitness, as various fans and even Gary Neville pointed out that the striker is not at the fitness levels required to be in the Premier League.
However, it seems as if the Belgian forward is not sure if he would be in the English top flight in the next season. Well, at least his comments throughout the last few days suggest so.
Lukaku on his Man Utd future:
A few days ago, Romelu Lukaku expressed his desire to play in the Serie A. He insisted that playing in the Italian top flight is a ‘dream’ for him, and that he wants to realise the dream ‘sooner or later’.
And now, Lukaku created another controversy as he failed to guarantee his future at Manchester United.
The Belgian forward was asked on whether he would be at Old Trafford next season.
“I don’t know,” Lukaku replied.
“I am not here to entertain rumours. I am still under contract.”
Lukaku is not the first player who stirred controversy with his comments. Paul Pogba also stated in the past that it’s a ‘dream’ for every player to play for Real Madrid. Justifiably, the speculations surrounding his move to Santiago Bernabeu have considerably increased since.
Solskjaer has stated that he is ready to make significant changes in the squad in the upcoming transfer window.

Lukaku: “We are here to support him (De Gea). He is strong. Mentally he is really, really strong or else he wouldn’t have been the best player at the club for seven or eight years. There is no doubting his ability.” #mufc [MU]
