Ronaldo on Ozil

Ronaldo on Ozil: Mesut Ozil left Real Madrid in 2013 after three seasons at Real Madrid, but one man wasn’t happy about his transfer.

Mesut Ozil has been one of the key figures at Arsenal ever since joining the club in 2013. The former German international joined the Gunners from Real Madrid, where he was a first-team regular.

He won a La Liga title, a Copa Del Rey and a Supercopa de Espana at the Spanish club, before seemingly falling out with the coach and bosses. “At the weekend, I was certain I would stay at Real Madrid, but afterward I realized I did not have the faith from the coach or the bosses,” Ozil said upon joining Arsenal.

“I am a player who needs this faith and that is what I have felt from Arsenal, which is why I have joined,” he added.

Recently, comments from another former Real Madrid superstar have emerged, who was angry with Mesut Ozil’s sudden transfer away from the club. The player in question is Real Madrid’s highest goalscorer in club’s history, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo on Ozil:

When Ozil joined Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo was already flourishing at the club. Ozil and Ronaldo formed an effective partnership on the field, and the duo terrorized the defences in their successful league season in 2011/12.

And so, when Ozil left the club unceremoniously in the summer of 2013, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t step back from showing his anger.

The Portuguese forward stated that he shared a good chemistry with Ozil, and that he shouldn’t have been sold.

“The sale of Ozil is very bad news for me. He was the player who best knew my moves in front of goal. I’m angry about Ozil leaving,” Ronaldo said.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo would eventually adapt to life without Ozil and spend five successful seasons after Ozil’s departure.

The forward left Real Madrid earlier this summer in a stunning move to Italian giants Juventus. Interestingly, Ronaldo also stated in one of his recent interviews that he didn’t garner respect from Real Madrid’s hierarchy, which forced him to make a move away from the club.
