Ronaldo’s shot goes for a throw-in: The Portuguese forward scored the only goal to seal three points, but also had an embarrassing moment.

Juventus defeated Torino in their first derby game of the season, as Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal through penalty in the 70th minute of the game.

The Italian champions remain unbeaten in the league after 16 games, accumulating 46 points, with only one draw. The side has now extended their lead to 11 points against their second-placed Napoli, who will take on Cagliari later tonight.

Cristiano Ronaldo might have scored the goal which gave Juventus the win in the Derby della Molle, but also faced an embarrassing moment early in the game.

However, Ronaldo, being Ronaldo, recovered quickly and kept his calm as he scored the decisive penalty to secure three points in the derby.

The Portuguese forward has now scored 12 goals for Juventus in 21 games across all competitions.

Juventus were far from their best but secured the victory, after Mario Mandzukic was fouled inside the box by Torino’s goalkeeper. Juventus have collected 46 of the possible 48 points in the league.

The Italian side has qualified for the round-of-16 of the Champions League, but faced a shocking 2-1 defeat to Young Boys in their final group stage game. Juventus, however, finished at the top of their group after Manchester United suffered a similar upset at Valencia.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side will now take on AS Roma in the league next weekend. They’re currently 11 points ahead of the second-placed Napoli, with Ancelotti’s side yet to play their game against Cagliari.
