Rajasthan Royals have had a change in leadership with Steven Smith taking over the captaincy reins from Ajinkya Rahane. The change in captaincy brought with it a change in fortune for the RR team who managed to beat Mumbai again in this tournament. The batting order looks a bit settled now. When Jos Buttler comes back, the Royals would surely flourish even more.

Top-order
Considering Buttler is not back yet, Sanju Samson and Ajinkya Rahane would continue to open the batting for the Royals. While Sanju has been a little inconsistent, he showed some signs of form in the last match. Rahane, who is freed from captaincy responsibility, would now like to focus on his batting and give RR a good start at the top of the order during the powerplay overs.
Steven Smith is finally looking good and it seems he has found his lost touch. Captaincy seems to have done him a world of good. After a Man of the Match performance against MI, he would look to take that form into this match as well.

Middle-order
Ben Stokes is struggling in this IPL. He has not batted well and he is now not going to ball as a precaution after his injury scare. Stokes would probably be given a few chances even as a pure batsman considering Smith’s fondness towards him.
The 17-year old Riyan Parag was drafted in and he impressed everyone wh0 saw him bat. He was responsible with his shots as well as prolific. He could also hit the big ones with ease. Expect him to show some more magic.
Ashton Turner is expected to make way for Liam Livingstone after Turner’s back to back golden duck dismissals. Livingstone would have to play the role of a stabiliser or a finisher depending on the situation. Stuart Binny and Shreyas Gopal would be the hard-hitting finishers in this squad.
Bowlers
Jofra Archer has been brilliant for the Royals with the ball especially at the death. He has consistently picked up wickets and has looked very impressive. He would like to take some catches though after dropping 3 in the last game.
Unadkat and Kulkarni, though, have to step up and stop leaking runs all the time. They have to do better than this. Shreyas Gopal and young Riyan Parag would be handling the spin responsibilities on this track which would give them some assistance surely. Stuart Binny can also roll over his arm and get a few important wickets.
