Sachin Tendulkar: Indian legend gives his opinion on India’s no.4 for the upcoming  CWC 2019 in England and Wales

The Indian cricket team left for the CWC 2019 venue in England and Wales on Tuesday, after a rather clear -headed and confident Press Conference by skipper Virat Kohli and Head coach Ravi Shastri.

Although the calm demeanour of the duo instilled a sense of belief in the fans’ hearts regarding India’s 3rd World Cup triumph, there was still some fog yet to be cleared. Yes, India’s no.4! There was apparently no question, and no consequent statement from the other side, as to who India will play at the crucial endlessly debated spot for the past one year.

However, Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, has finally come up with an answer regarding the same, and is as relaxed about the spot, as the Indian Team apparently is.

What did Sachin Tendulkar say?

Tendulkar feels that there are enough batters in the strong Indian batting line-up who can bat at no.4, as they have the required experience to adjust themselves to play at any number.

“I think we have batsmen, who can do the job. Number four is just a number and it can be adjusted. I particularly don’t see No 4 as a problem. Our boys have played enough cricket to know their roles whether it is No 4, 6 or 8. Situational awareness is the key,” the batting legend told PTI.

Indian Team has a perfect blend

Speaking highly of the two wrist spinners in the team- Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, Tendulkar said that both the spinners will definitely do well in England and India are lucky to have their services at their disposal.

Sachin is also very impressed with the depth of the Indian line-up and and believes the team has all it takes to win the silverware.

“There is a good balance in the side. We have a number of guys with 8-10 years of experience and at the same time we have talented youngsters like Kuldeep, Rahul, Chahal, Hardik (Pandya) and Jasprit (Bumrah) with a couple of years of international cricket”, said Tendulkar.

“So it’s a perfect blend with all the makings of a wonderful team. I rate our chances very high,” concluded the India batting legend.
