Sadio Mane broke the deadlock for Liverpool in the second half, thanks to an incredible piece of play from Liverpool’s skipper Jordan Henderson. The hosts were struggling to break down the defence of the Blues and struggled to create any chances because of the lack of room inside the Chelsea penalty box.
On the other hand, Willian had a chance to break through and cause trouble in the counter-attack, but his shot was watched shoot wide by Alisson Becker. Half-time could not wait for Liverpool who were in need of a tactical change to firmly get the grip on this tie. Jurgen Klopp’s half time did wonders as the Reds stormed into the second half and did the job on the Blues.
In the 50th minute, Jordan Henderson found Mohamed Salah inside the penalty box and the Egyptian flicked the ball to his Skipper again. Liverpool’s number 14 picked up the ball and saw Sadio Mane in the far post. Jordan Henderson picked him to perfection and lobbed over the defence to find the head of Mane.
Liverpool’s number 10 scored from close range to give the lead for the hosts. Jordan Henderson’s relentless pressing turned out to be pivotal in this move.

Two minutes after this goal, Mohamed Salah’s 40 yard shot from outside the penalty box found the back of the net. There was an enormous swivel in the shot to take it away from Kepa Arrizabalaga.
