Salah and Lovren dive: The Liverpool duo dived in the space of 15 seconds against Paris Saint Germain, a video reveals.

Paris Saint Germain defeated Liverpool 2-1 to strengthen their bid for the round-of-16. Liverpool are now 3rd in their Champions League group, and face relegation to Europa League, with their final game against first-placed Napoli.

Jurgen Klopp’s side started their campaign in dramatic fashion with a late winner against PSG, but Liverpool have since been shaky in the Champions League.

The side suffered a shocking loss to Red Star Belgrade, and lost the away leg at Napoli as well. PSG, meanwhile, are 2nd in the group at the moment.

Many Liverpool supporters and players accused PSG stars of diving. Andy Roberton said, “I suppose they were in the lead and they were looking to waste time. You can use gamesmanship, playacting, you can use it all really.

“I would like to know how much time they wasted… it was frustrating. But when you play against PSG you know it’s something you’re going to come up against especially with him (Neymar). It wasn’t something we quite dealt with tonight.”

However, a video has surfaced on the internet, which, quite ironically, shows two Liverpool stars diving themselves.

Salah and Lovren dive:

In the later stages of the second half, Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Dejan Lovren resolved to their opposition’s tactics to earn a easier chance for the equalizer.

While the Egyptian forward dived inside the box, Dejan Lovren play-acted on the wing.

Here’s the video:

Jurgen Klopp, after the game, criticised the PSG players for play-acting.

“Two times in a row we won the fair play award in England and tonight we look like butchers after the yellow cards we had.

“It was clever of PSG, especially Neymar, but a lot of other players went down like it was really something serious and we were not that calm any more.”

Former Liverpool star and pundit Jamie Carragher went to the extent of wondering if players could respectfully go back to their families after such blatant foul play.

“It was very frustrating. I think with Neymar it was even in the first half, we’re talking about one of the best players in the world, but watching him tonight was embarrassing,” Carragher said.

“I have no sympathy really with the PSG players and if Klopp is frustrated with them, that’s understandable. I don’t know how they go back and speak to their families and wives in the players’ lounge.”
