After the successful completion of a decade of IPL editions, the eleventh edition of the cash-rich tournament is back to keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

As per the inputs from ESPNcricinfo, the eleventh edition of the juicy tourney is going to go all guns blazing on April 4th and will come to a conclusion on May 31st.
With two more major franchises namely Chennai Super Kings and Royals back after a two-year season ban, the entertainment quotient is expected to be doubled.

It is learnt that eight participating teams can retain some handy number of players. After the arrival of CSK and Royals, it still puts the player retention policy in a dilemma.
According to the reports, 8 franchises can retain 3 players before the auction sparks off. It should be two Indians and one overseas player.
The final decision regarding the same would further come to a hearing on November 14. All franchises will have to release players before auctions so that CSK and Royals would get a good crop of players.
Mumbai Indians are the defending champions and they have something to decorate in the trophy cabinet with three IPL accolades.
CSK hasn’t played for two seasons and still own two IPL trophies. Their emphatic comeback promises to be a real challenge for the 11th edition.
The mega auction will take place in a couple of months, and is expected to be one hell of an event. More than a decade after the first auction, all the teams in the IPL will be looking to revamp their squads while holding on to some of their most prominent names.
