Kohli heaps praise on Dinesh Karthik after his performance in the 2nd ODI
There are two facts that we must understand after the conclusion of two matches. One is that, India floundered to defend in the first match and successfully aced the chase in the do-or-die contest.
It was more important for Virat Kohili & Co to equal the series and credit goes to Bhuvneshwar Kumar for his three wickets, Shikhar Dhawan’s fireworks from the top and the finish from Dinesh Karthik’s end.
In reply to a modest total of 231 set by Kiwis, Dhawan escalated things quite well for his brilliant 68 runs. Then it was all down to Dinesh Karthik to justify his selection right. He composed 64* to help India get past the victory line.

Virat Kohli said that Dinesh Karthik has executed his skills quite well at No.4 spot. His contributions were good for himself and also for the team as well.
“Dhawan has been playing really well. He’s striking the ball really well. He’s pretty confident at the moment. Dinesh as well, getting some crucial runs for himself as well as the team.
I look forward to challenges. We spoke about bouncing back, and we have bounced back here today. Would look to play similar sort of cricket in Kanpur as well,” Kohli told at the post-match press conference.
