Mick Schumacher will be moving into F2 next season, having secured the F3 title in dramatic circumstances this time round.

Schumacher was nowhere close to the summit halfway near the season, but his team found that much needed performance boost and Schumacher did not fail to execute the things on the race track.

Now, Schumacher needs to decide how he will try and shape up his future in order to land that F1 seat and maybe a championship sometime down the line.

Toto Wolff had earlier stated that Mercedes would welcome Schumacher with open arms, but according to reports in Motorsport Italy, Mick has chosen Ferrari over Mercedes.

Arrivabene too had opened doors for Mick, saying that with his name and the history that it shares with Ferrari, Mick is always welcomed in Maranello.

“With a name like this, that wrote historical pages of Ferrari history, the door of Maranello is always open.” Arrivabene had said.

The Motorsport Italy report states that no final deal has been agreed upon between Schumacher and Ferrari, but Schumacher has decided that he will be joining the Ferrari junior driver programme.

It is believed that Leclerc’s swift rise in the Ferrari ranks has prompted Schumacher to opt for this decision.

Leclerc has claimed the Ferrari seat just after one year into his F1 career and Schumacher too has all the skills and the talent to achieve something similar in the future.
