Seattle Sounders start eight-year-old Leukaemia sufferer against Borussia Dortmund

Seattle Sounders started an eight-year-old kid named Bheem Goyal against Borussia Dortmund.

An eight-year-old named Bheem Goyal suffering from leukaemia started the game for Seattle Sounders against Borussia Dortmund in a friendly.

It’s every child’s dream to represent the team they love. The ‘Make A Wish’ foundation made sure that the boy fulfiled his dream to the finest by guarding the post in early moments of the game.

The cancer charity got in touch with the Major League Soccer (MLS) club Seattle Sounders and the club signed eight-year-old Bheem Goyal and handed out a chance to play against Borussia Dortmund in a friendly.

The youngster was subbed off early after making an early save. He left the pitch to high five of all Seattle Sounders players and staffs, who were sat on the sidelines. The whole crowd erupted to cherish and applaud this moment of touching class shown by the club.

As well as his starring role on the field against Borussia Dortmund, Goyal was part of the training ahead of the game and Steven Frie spoke about the boy, saying:

“It was great to have him out and training with us to see what we’re doing, get his mind off things.

“Sports always give you an outlet. They allow you to disappear in your own world and forget about your worries.”

They might have lost the game to Borussia Dortmund 3-1. But, football won at the end of the day.  It was a touch of class from Seattle Sounders to fulfil the dream of a kid suffering from an unfortunate disease.
