Serge Aurier's dramatic own goal causes havoc for Tottenham Hotspur

Serge Aurier’s dramatic own goal causes havoc for Tottenham Hotspur, as the London based club drops points against Norwich City.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League campaigns have always been a roller coaster and no fan ever wants to ride in them, even after the appointment of Jose Mourinho, the Lilywhites have not managed to change their habits.

This time the blame will surely go to Serge Aurier, whose dramatic own goal caused a crisis for Tottenham Hotspur while they were facing Norwich City in the 20th game-week.

A ball to Teemu Pukki from behind causes panic in Tottenham’s defence. Toby Alderweireld while tackling the Finnish striker plays the ball of Aurier and it directly goes inside the net to make 2-1.

Mourinho’s men were left in disbelief while they saw the ball go beyond the goal-line. However, this did not prove to be worse for the North London club.

As a horrendous tackle on Harry Kane by Christoph Zimmermann in the 18-yard box gives another chance to Spurs to take a point away from the game.

The penalty was awarded to Kane, and the captain in the absence of Hugo Lloris stepped up to fulfil the duty. Although, Tim Krul, who has the best record against penalties in the league was all pumped up.

But the English International came out victorious as he blasted the ball into the right side of the goal, which Krul absolutely misjudged.  Although things would have been different had Pukki’s earlier attempt on the goal hadn’t been disallowed.

Premier League once again surrounded itself with another VAR controversy as Pukki was disallowed a goal for the finest of the margins, but in the end, Spurs took away a point from a match on a tough away ground.
