Sergio Marchionne in deep coma, condition reportedly irreversible
Sergio Marchionne’s health has been a cause of concern in the F1 fraternity, ever since the news broke out a few days back of Marchionne stepping down as Ferrari boss due to health issues.
Official reports suggested that Marchionne had stepped down because of a shoulder operation.
However, recent developments suggest that the shoulder operation wasn’t the normal one that one would expect.
A disease emanating from the prostate had spread in a devastating manner and thus the operation had to be carried out quickly, reported Affaritaliani.it.
“Instead of a simple shoulder operation, it was more complex and required complex clinical procedure. An invasive disease emanating from the prostate had already spread in a devastating manner, but only discovered a short time ago.”
“An evil that could require further medical investigations and more complex surgical interventions. From here the Marchionne family have drastic decisions to make.” the Affaritaliani.it report read.
News of Marchionne’s coma was broken by Lettera43 editor Paolo Madron who came up with a heartbreaking twitter post to break the news.
“Things that you would never want to say, but that the duty of news unfortunately requires us. Marchionne is in a deep coma” Paolo Madron tweeted.
Cose che non si vorrebbero mai dire, ma che il dovere di cronaca purtroppo ci impone: #Marchionne è in coma profondo

There are further reports(in Dagospia site) that state the Sergio Marchionne is suffering from ‘lung cancer’ as he was a chain smoker.
It is indeed a testing and difficult time for the Ferrari family, who held Marchionne in such high regard.
Marchionne’s management, decision making and vision for the Ferrari family helped the team bond and work towards a better future.
His departure from the professional scene would be tough to deal with, but Ferrari need to get back to work and try get some wins on the race track for the great man.
