Shane Warne lashes out at Australian batsmen

Shane Warne lashes out at Australian batsmen: The legendary spinner was seen at odds with Australian batsmen and their performance.

Shane Warne, an absolute legend of the game, has questioned the lean patch of the Australian batsmen during the ongoing tour of UAE. The 49-year old legendary spinner took to his Twitter account to express his opinion on the current Australian team.

Batting in the alien conditions of UAE, Australia’s middle-order has failed to bank on the start provided by the top-order. Australia slipped from 0-142 to 10-202 in the first innings of the first Test.

In the second innings, Australia were reduced from 0-87 to 3-87 within a span of seven deliveries from Mohammad Abbas.

Having dismissed the home team for 282 in 81 overs, Australia had a chance to build a significant lead in the second Test. However, they were bundled out for 145 in 50.4 overs.

Warne opined that apart from the openers (Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja), the others in the batting line-up should step up as well for not every time will the bowlers rescue Australia when in a spot of bother.

In another tweet, Warne hinted at the bowlers being more susceptible to injuries if they continue to bowl on each day of a Test match for that has been happening with batsmen not spending enough time in the middle.

Warne further questioned the decision to name Mitchell Marsh (scores of 12, 0 and 13 in the series) as the vice captain of the side and also getting a promotion in the batting order. Perhaps, it is a case of bogging him down with too many responsibilities.

Australian captain Tim Paine had scored a match-saving half-century in the second innings of the first Test. Warne advocated for Paine to bat up the order. Read the tweet below:

Warne is currently in the news regarding the launch of his autobiography named ‘No Spin’. The Aussies was congratulated by an arch-rival of his heyday in Sachin Tendulkar on the same platform. Read the tweets below:
