Shikhar Dhawan mocks Cheteshwar Pujara for his celebratory run after dismissing Mohit Jangra in Ranji Trophy

Shikhar Dhawan mocks Cheteshwar Pujara: The Indian opening batsman saw the funny side of star batsman taking a wicket in the Ranji Trophy.

During the third day of the Elite Group match of the ongoing season of the Ranji Trophy between Saurashtra and Uttar Pradesh in Rajkot, Saurashtra batsman Cheteshwar Pujara picked his sixth First-class wicket after he dismissed Uttar Pradesh seamer Mohit Jangra.

It all happened in the 168th over of the innings when Saurashtra captain Jaydev Unadkat introduced Pujara into the attack. Not disappointing his captain, Pujara affected a breakthrough on only the second delivery that he bowled as Jangra edged the ball to Prerak Mankad at first slip.

Pujara, who was handed the ball after a significant time period, was elated after picking a wicket and started on a celebratory run. The 31-year old player ended up posting the video on his official Instagram handle in the evening.

“The day when I changed my Batsman status to an All-rounder,” read the caption of Pujara’s Instagram post.

India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who is usually jovial on the same platform, ended up commenting on Pujara’s celebratory run while taking a dig at his running between the wickets.

Bhai kabhie itne tez sprint running karte waqt bhi maar liya kar [Brother, sometimes sprint like this while running between the wickets],” read Dhawan’s comment.

On the other hand, India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin appreciated Pujara taking a wicket and suggested him to bowl more.
