Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan pulled off a blinder against England in the 2nd T20I at Cardiff.

English Captain Eoin Morgan was in a good partnership with Alex Hales as England were looking comfortable to chase the target. Virat Kohli changed the bowling and brought Hardik Pandya to bowl on the very first delivery.

Pandya bowled a steep bouncer to which Morgan connected sweetly. Morgan pulled the ball towards fine leg as the ball went straight towards Shikhar Dhawan stationed in the deep.

Dhawan moved few steps back and timed his jump perfectly as the Delhi boy fell down on the ground with a large thud. He did not allow the ball to get off from his grip. After catching the ball, Dhawan got up and acknowledged the applause of the crowd.

Earlier, the fans were treated to a Dhoni special at the Sophia gardens in Cardiff. When Dhoni came out to bat in the second T20I against England, India were really struggling at 79 for 4.

He had to protect his wicket as well, as there was no other recognized batsman except Hardik Pandya after him. At the same time, he also had to score quickly as India was not able to maintain momentum through their innings. The master managed both extremely well as he paced his innings beautifully.

Dhoni took singles and doubles initially and then cut loose in the last two overs. He went all guns blazing the as the last over actually went for 22 runs. Mahi took India to a decent 148-run total.

After the catch, Dhawan did his iconic thigh-five and then joined the group of Indian players to celebrate the wicket.

As it turned out, Morgan’s dismissal changed the course of the match. However, England ultimately succeeded in getting over the line.
