Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Australia skipper Steven Smith are pretty good at dominating. They are one of the best in the world who are making most of the form in contemporary cricket.

Former India captain and current President of CAB, Sourav Ganguly has snubbed comparisons between Virat Kohli and Steven Smith claiming that both are the best in the world right now.

“Don’t compare Kohli and Smith. For me, both of them are right up there and both are the best batsmen in the world today. Virat is special.

The way Kohli is always hungry for runs, always charged up and energetic and the way he turns tables is phenomenal,” said Ganguly while speaking to India Today.

Steven Smith is ranked No.1 in the ICC Test player rankings whose staggering 141 against England in the opening Ashes Test gained him extra 5 points and hence he holds 941 points to his name.

Virat Kohli who recently scored a double century against Sri Lanka is currently stationed at 5th in the ICC Batsman rankings with 877 points to his lofty standards.

Ganguly felt that Steve Smith’s century came against a better opposition to that of Virat Kohli’s double century that came against a relatively inexperienced bowling attack.

However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli is a great player who is always hungry for enough runs.

“Smith’s century came against a much better opposition while Virat’s double century was against a relatively weaker bowling attack. But he also said that this fact takes nothing away from Kohli. Kohli has been fantastic,” Ganguly said.
