Simon Mignolet claims Roberto Firmino is not a better finisher than his Club Brugge teammates and are even on par with Mo Salah.
Liverpool fans couldn’t help but feel a tad bit sorry for Simon Mignolet last season. The Belgian had been their number 1 keeper for several years. He was not the best glovesman in the world but he always gave it all. Unfortunately, he was eventually replaced by Alison Becker between the sticks.

Mignolet pushed for a move away from the club last summer and is now with Club Brugge where they are currently running away with the Jupiler league, altogether, cutting a much happier figure than his last season at the Anfield.
Liverpool are currently in a similar situation and are looking good to retain the Champions League and win their maiden Premier League title. Many around the world have identified Liverpool’s front three as a major reason for their success. However, Mignolet feels that one third of the trio is perhaps not as good as everyone claims.
Simon Mignolet claims Roberto Firmino is not a better finisher than his Club Brugge teammates
The former Liverpool goalkeeper believes that his teammates Ruud Vormer and Hans Vanaken are superior to Roberto Firmino in front of the goal and are equal to Mohamed Salah when it comes to finishing.
‘Both Hans and Ruud are very good finishers,’ he told Het Laaste Nieuws.
‘Firmino and Mo [Salah] are of course incredible football players, but Firmino is not a born killer.
‘Hans and Ruud should certainly not be inferior to Bobby in terms of finishing.
‘I even dare to say that Hans and Ruud on that are better than Roberto Firmino. And that they are of a comparable level to Mo.’
What makes this comparison absurd is the fact that Firmino has scored 4 times in his 5 games alone while Vormer has 3 in 30 this season. Venaken has been better at 13 in 33 matches. Besides, Firmino offers much more than just goals and is precisely the reason why Jurgen Klopp holds him in such high regard.
