Sir Alex Ferguson picks out the Premier League winner between Liverpool and Manchester City.

Manchester United great Sir Alex Ferguson has been witnessing his side battle out for a place in the top four. While the Red Devils are struggling for consistency, the Scottish International is being forced to observe the rivals Liverpool and Manchester City battle out for the league title this campaign.

Both the sides are breathing down their necks every single week and it is proving to be scintillating because very rarely do these sides drop points against their opponents these days. Liverpool are currently leading the pile with 85 points from 33 games, whilst the Citizens have bagged 83 points having played one game lesser.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have favourable fixtures than Pep Guardiola’s side. The Citizens will play Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the next two weeks which could prove to be season-defining. They will stay have tricky ties against Burnley, Leicester City and an away clash at Brighton and Hove Albion on the final day. On the other hand, the Merseyside outfit have played out all games against top six and have clashes left against Cardiff City, Huddersfield Town, Newcastle United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Burnley defender Phil Bardsley was discussing with Sir Alex Ferguson about the exciting title clash. The former Manchester United manager has picked Liverpool as the title winners because he feels that his side would be able to get something from that clash on April 24th.

“I was chatting with Phil Bardsley, and I’m going to drop a name here, he was sat with Sir Alex Ferguson,” Walters told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast.

“He sat with him and he thinks Liverpool are going to win it. He thinks Liverpool because he thinks United will get something out of the City game.”

Before these two kick off  Premier League action in the forthcoming weekend, Manchester City will have to overcome a 1-0  deficit in the Champions League Quarterfinals, whilst Liverpool are 2-0 up and travel to Porto on Wednesday. Sir Alex Ferguson has travelled to Barcelona in the hope of securing a place in the last four of European competition.
