The forthcoming edition of the Royal Rumble will mark the 30th anniversary ever since it’s inception in 1988. WWE would look to mark the occasion through style by putting on a stellar show.

There have been numerous speculations regarding the winner of the approaching 30 men Royal Rumble main event, where the winner gets a title shot at “The grandest stage of them all” .

It was earlier considered that the winner of the battle royal would be Roman Reigns, en route to his eventual match against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. But, it seems like that the WWE is not proceeding with the route.

Since, the announcement of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view being branded as a RAW exclusive event, WWE are planning to make the match inside the brutal steel structure as the No.1 Contender’s match for the Universal title, wherein top superstars from RAW would battle it out for the opportunity only for Roman Reigns to walk out victorious.

Under those circumstances, the chance for a SmackDown superstar to get a title shot makes more sense. Wrestlers such as Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are few of the lead contenders if the WWE decides to embrace this path.

Out of these wrestlers, a win for Shinsuke Nakamura would really benefit due to his loss of momentum over the past few months with recurring defeats to Jinder Mahal and being the first elimination at the Survivor Series main event.

Apart from that, As reported, if AJ Styles manages to hold the title till that time, the WWE Universe could witness the much-anticipated match between “The Phenomenal One” and “The King Of Strong Style”.
