Solskjaer reveals who will take penalties at Manchester United as Pogba and Rashford are in contest

Solskjaer reveals who will take penalties at Manchester United as the Red Devils’ gaffer was expected to clarify the role at the club.

Manchester United lost two points in the last game-week of the Premier League against Wolverhampton after Paul Pogba missed a penalty to make two past the Wolves to win the match.

Later, Manchester United fans were outraged by the miss the French International and petitioned to not allow Pogba to take penalties ahead due to his recent poor conversion record. Some even went beyond the limits and racially abused the 26-year-old star.

On the other hand, Marcus Rashford is another player, who takes the spot-kick for Manchester United regularly but in the last match, he himself handed the ball to Pogba.

In the end, Manchester United fans made the demand of making Rashford the primary penalty taker, as the young English forward is high on confidence since the last few matches.

With Ole Solskjaer’s press conference today, it was expected that the Red Devils’ gaffer might announce his decision on who will be taking penalties when asked.

And the Norwegian manager did respond to the query when he was asked about who will be taking the penalties in the upcoming matches. “I’m sure you’re gonna see Paul Pogba score a pen for Manchester United again, definitely. We’re practising pens still and Marcus and Paul are still on them.” he replied.

Many thought that Solskjer will take only one name, or maybe will declare Rashford the primary person to take penalties. This statement by Solskjaer has not changed anything and it means Manchester United will stick with these players as penalty takers ahead too.

At some extent, this statement by Solskjaer is wise too, as Pogba is already has been massively criticized and was also racially abused by his own fans, and now stripping him away from a crucial role will probably lower his morale ahead.
