SOM vs GLA Dream11 Team: Last season’s finalists Sussex look to build on the foundation accorded to them and emulate the same success of last year.

With the Cricket World Cup behind us now, it’s time for the champion country to continue regaling us in an exuberant brand of cricket. The showpiece T20 league in the country, the Vitality Blast is back for its 2019 edition after being pushed back due to the recently concluded World Cup.

And the anticipating for the marquee event is at its pinnacle owing to the rampant success England tasted at the quadrennial tournament. Defeating New Zealand in an unbelievable final, one that will go down in the golden chapters of the cricketing fraternity, the English cricket team ended up lifting their first ever title.

It’s this proposition which promises to rope in an unprecedented viewership for the Vitality Blast as the cricket continues in England. With stalwart domestic names as well as a slew of worldclass international star performers lining up the 18 sides in the league, we are bound to be revelled in an enthralling brand of cricket.

The expansive format of the league sees it last over a one month period which will see 18 teams split into groups of two, the North Division and the South Division. The top four sides from either group will venture into the quarter-finals with the traditional format being revolved around to decide the winner. And in a bid to bring the league across the entire land of the country, 22 iconic stadiums have been chosen to play the slated matches at.

And beginning the English T20 Blast couldn’t have been a more stupendous and befitting fixture than the one being served up our way from the South Group, scheduled between Middlesex and Essex Eagles. In Essex we have last year’s finalists, a side that eventually went down to an exuberant Worcestershire Rapids side in the summit clash

 Probable Winner

With both the sides still an unknown entity in the league given this is the first match they’ll be playing this season and with players returning from the World cup from either side, as far as squads go, Middlesex look more stacked on the batting front.

The side have managed to rope in the most coveted batsman in the marquee event in the form of South African AB de Villiers, a bat who is bound to set the league alight with his clean hitting brand of batting. With the shortest format of the game traditionally one to favour batsmen, we see Middlesex coming out of this encounter with a win in their kitty.

Wicket-Keepers for SOM vs GLA Dream11

Adam Wheater from Sussex becomes our first pick after his solid showings in the lower middle-order for Sussex in the County Championship Division 2. He’s someone who can come and start hitting the ball to the fence right from ball one and could come up with an important cameo for his side in the death overs.

Batters for SOM vs GLA Dream11

There were two names from Middlesex which we knew we had to hammer down into our side. Nailing a place in our place 11 without any hesitation were AB de Villiers and Dawid Malan, two of the best batsmen from today’s match. In between them, the two are the fulcrums of their side, players who can go onto amass a bagful of runs in any conditions and with the Lord’s surface bound to be a tricky one, they become extremely safe picks for us.

We also have opener Sam Robson come in from Middlesex while Sussex see the lone representation in the form of Dan Lawrence.

All-Rounders for SOM vs GLA Dream11

Sussex Eagles’ captain, Ryan Ten Doeschate is our first pick for this one. The captain is the mainstay of his side, a player who has revelled us in some instrumental performances with his ability to incorporate both his skills with the bat and ball perfectly.

He’s going to be accompanied by Simon Hammer as we opt for a two man partnership from Sussex in the all-rounders facet.

Bowling Order for SOM vs GLA Dream11

Both the international names for Middlesex and Sussex have been selected by us. We’ll begin first with the picks from Middlesex with spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Toby Roland Jones making an entry into our side. Jones was particularly impressive recently, showing that he can more than adequately contribute with the bat as well and could get some vital runs to add to his points tally.

Meanwhile from Sussex we have Aaron Beard and Mohammad Amir being chosen by us. The World Cup should that his Lord’s pitch is one where the pacers are going to get more than adequate purchase and in these two we have players who’ll love plying their goods at the stadium.

Captain And Vice-Captain

Both are selections are batsmen and the both from Middlesex with the stellar AD de Villiers our captain while we have opted for Dawid to be our vice-captain.
