Son Heung-Min covers Mascot’s head from the rain in a sweet gesture ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Sheffield United in the Premier League.

It would be an understatement to say that Tottenham are currently struggling in the Premier League. After 12 matches they find themselves in 14th place and are just 6 points above the relegation zone. Although they did put up a far better performance against Sheffield United this weekend.

The Blades were a goal down and it looked like Tottenham would get full points. However, they levelled the score in the 78th minute to walk away with one each as Sheffield United continued to impress. Son Heung-Min’s 58th minute strike gave Tottenham their lead. However, it was what he did before the match that has caught everyone’s imagination.

In one of the sweetest moments from the Premier League, Son was caught on camera protecting a mascot’s head from the rain. The little boy looked up and the pair shared a smile before walking for the customary handshakes ahead of the match.

Son has been in the news lately for his involvement in Andre Gomes’ horrific injury that left him with a dislocated fracture to his leg. Andre Gomes is now recovering from the freak accident and has thanked everyone for their support. Son was visibly distraught after seeing the extent of Gome’s injury.

The forward sent apologies to Gomes during Tottenham’s champions league match against Red Star Belgrade. After scoring in the match. Son appeared to say sorry to the camera in what is likely a gesture directed towards Gomes.
