The Indian Head coach is set to be announced today with the Cricket Advisory Committee holding interviews for the shortlisted candidates.
The CAC comprising of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman will be going through the presentations and will be cross questioning the candidates on their vision for Indian Cricket.
The coach, whoever it is, will be continue until the 2019 World Cup, hence it is very important to select someone who starts working towards that goal from day one itself.
Ganguly and VVS Laxman have already arrived at the BCCI headquarters and will be joined by Sachin Tendulkar over Skype.

Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody and Ravi Shastri are front-runners for the job, but we’ll have to wait and see as to who gets the final nod.
While speaking to TIMES NOW, Ganguly made it very clear that the coach will be announced sometime today evening.
Reports suggest that 7 candidates will be interviewed by the CAC today. Shastri, Sehwag, Moody, Phil Simmons, Richard Pybus, Lalchand Rajput and Lance Klusener are in line for the head coach’s job.
Shastri’s proximity to Kohli might tilt the tide in his favour, but then his ‘tensions’ with Ganguly might not bode well with the CAC. Sehwag looks the next best candidate and Moody has an outside chance because of his stellar record as coach.
The coach’s first assignment would be the Sri Lanka series, wherein India would play 3 test matches, 5 ODI’s and 1 T20. The next Indian coach will have the onus to create a core group of players who would carry on till the 2019 World Cup. A big decision might have to be taken with respect to Dhoni and Yuvi, as they haven’t really been in the best of forms.
While Dhoni might still be indispensable to the side, Yuvraj is proving to be more of a liability and hence might be dropped for Pant.
