SRH are under a bit of turmoil, having lost 3 games on the trot, with their batting suffering dearly in all 3. The top heavy SRH batting unit has been exposed in the last 3 games and Kane Williamson would be hoping that normalcy can return when the SRH take on CSK at Hyderabad on Wednesday.
CSK on the other hand have been doing their thing of taking games deep and winning from nearly impossible situations. They have been exceptional during crunch situations, with different players stepping up whenever required.
Their bowling still seems to be a little weak with Bravo absent, but on the whole, MS Dhoni’s leadership is helping them just get over the line whenever the going gets tough.
SRH will want to get back to winning ways, with CSK desperate to wrap up that playoff spot in the next few games.

Wicketkeeper for SRH vs CSK Dream 11
For the wicketkeeper slot, it is going to be straight shootout between Jonny Bairstow and MS Dhoni. Both these batsmen have been in terrific form this season, with both bat and the gloves. What tilts me a little towards Bairstow is the fact that he would be batting at the top of the order, whereas Dhoni will be pushed down to 5 with Rayudu slotting in at 4.
I can’t be quite sure if Dhoni will get the required number of balls to make a significant impact and hence I go in with Jonny Bairstow, despite that obvious weakness against the ball turning away from him.
Bowlers for SRH vs CSK Dream 11 team
Whilst I have stayed away from high priced bowlers this season, I would be making an exception today and drafting in two bowlers worth 9cr each, as the batsmen for this game aren’t that costly.
Also, the Hyderabad track has had a lot to offer for the bowlers, especially the spinners and when you have two quality leg spinners waiting to be drafted into the squad. Both Imran Tahir and Rashid Khan have bowled brilliantly this IPL, with Tahir picking up 4 wickets in his last outing with KKR.
While Rashid Khan has picked up just 6 wickets in 7 games, every ball that he has bowled in this IPL has posed a question to the batsmen. And with CSK having 5 right handers in their top 6, that sluggish Hyderabad wicket could play right into Rashid’s hands.
The two pure swing bowlers from both sides have been extremely deadly this season, with Deepak Chahar always ensuring a good start for CSK and Sandeep Sharma chipping in with wickets at the start, in the middle and at the death. Coming in for just 8.5 cr too, these two can help you immensely with the cost constraints too.
All-Rounders for SRH vs CSK Dream 11 team
With 4 bowlers in my team for a change, I would be getting in just 1 all-rounder for this game, largely because of the absence of both Mohammad Nabi and Dwayne Bravo, who would have been automatic choices if they would have been playing.
While Bravo is out with injury, Nabi has been benched for Williamson, who assumes the captain’s role and also strengthens SRH’s fragile batting order.
Thus, the only all-rounder I go in with is Ravindra Jadeja, who has excelled with the ball for CSK, especially on surfaces that have been conducive for spin. Jadeja is probably the biggest asset to have on spin friendly tracks, as he traps batsmen with the balls that go straight on. Having picked up 7 wickets in 8 games and getting those little cameos at the end, Jaddu could be a gem for your Dream 11 team, especially at just 8.5cr.
Batsmen for SRH vs CSK Dream 11 team
David Warner walks into my team as my first batting pick, for his exploits at the top of the order and how he has been leading the way for SRH with the bat. 400 runs in 7 games, you wouldn’t want to go in for this game without the services of Warner to bank on. Get the orange cap holder in.
Suresh Raina has been slowly finding his way back into form in this IPL. A wonderful 58 off 42 balls in that chase against KKR at the Eden Gardens would have done his confidence a world of good. Moreover, he did that against a bowling line up full of quality spin bowlers, something that would help him score runs in Hyderabad too.
Vijay Shankar would get back to the number 4 slot, with Kane Williamson coming in at number 3, a position that maybe suits Shankar more, as he can take the attack to the opposition at the death as well. While Shankar hasn’t really gone bonkers for SRH yet, he provides that solidity mixed with aggression, something that I feel we can bank on as Dream 11 Fantasy managers. Also, coming in at just 8.5 cr, Shankar is a steal.
Faf du Plessis has for the time being sorted out the opening combination issue for CSK, as neither Rayudu nor Watson were firing in the initial few games, leaving the middle order to do all the hard work. First game in, du Plessis got a 50 and CSK were happy that their opening woes were put to rest. He has been contributing well in the games thereafter too, having accumulated 128 runs in 4 games.
Jadhav or Rayudu for SRH vs CSK Dream 11 team
For the final pick, I would be getting in one from Jadhav and Rayudu. While I always go in with top order batsmen whilst picking batsmen, I am tilted a little towards Jadhav, as he could be promoted up the order if the situation calls for some brisk striking. However, if you still want to get Rayudu in because of his higher batting position, do so only when CSK are batting second, as whilst batting first, if the openers get off to a good start, Rayudu might be pushed down the order for Jadhav to come in and take advantage of the death overs.
