KSI Breaks Down How His Real Side 'JJ' Takes a Backseat When He Steps in the Ring

Olajide “KSI” Olayinka Williams Olatunji is one of the most popular content creators in the world. Other than being a member of the Sidemen group, he is also an entrepreneur and boxer. In fact, KSI is one of the top-rated influencer boxers and had a no-loss record before his recent fight against Tommy Fury. However, he recently announced that he would take a break from boxing and not fight Jake Paul immediately.

KSI is a pretty popular name among YouTubers and has more than 24 million subscribers on the platform. However, he took up boxing after deciding to explore other fields for a while. His debut fight was in 2018 and has not lost a fight ever since until 2023 against Tommy Fury, except for a draw against Logan Paul.

Incidentally, a boxing fight against Jake Paul and KSI was proposed sometime back but was eventually withdrawn. Let’s dive in to know what KSI has to say about his break from boxing and fighting Jake Paul.

KSI announces taking a break from Boxing and not fighting Jake Paul immediately

There has been an ongoing beef between KSI and Jake Paul for several years now. According to Olatunji, he does not consider Jake a good person and disgusts everything that has to do with him. KSI has previously stated in an interview that Jake has always been eager to destroy him and everything he has done with perseverance.

Jake Paul recently challenged KSI to a boxing fight that could bring the beef between them to an end. Jake was very confident and declared in the interview that JJ’s win against Tommy Fury would not mean that the influencer could win against him. The wait for a response from JJ was the longest but came to an end pretty recently.

KSI was asked on the latest Sidemen YouTube video about his boxing fight against Tommy. He answered that “I did what I wanted to do at the end of the day”. He further added that he was just thought to be a YouTuber kid who had no right to fight Tommy Fury but JJ was happy that he proved the world wrong. According to the YouTuber, “If you work hard and believe in yourself, you can literally do whatever you want”.

He was asked by another Sidemen member what he was planning to do next. KSI was quick to answer that he was just going to relax for a while and focus on YouTube, business, and the Sidemen Group. KSI was also subsequently asked about his fight with Jake Paul and he answered “Right now, I kind of want to just enjoy my life and figure out what I want to do after”.

Netizens stated that KSI was scared was running from Jake while some people supported him and claimed that he was really in need of a break.

Did the KSI vs Tommy Fury boxing fight have a fair ending?

KSI and Tommy Fury officially fought each other on October 14, 2023, live from AO Arena, Manchester. Interestingly, KSI looked in control from the very beginning, but the final results went sideways. Tommy Fury was declared the winner by unanimous decision. Olatunji was not in favor of the results from the very beginning and claimed that he would be appealing to the commission for a rematch.

According to KSI, there was no way Tommy could have won the fight. JJ explained that he had landed the maximum punches while Tommy did not do so and also pointed out that Tommy had a point deducted for hitting the back of his head. The online community, however, was divided on their opinion. Some thought Tommy was far better in the ring while a segment of people claimed KSI was robbed of the victory. However, the majority stated that they were not happy about either of the competitors and none of them deserved a win.
