SUS vs MID Dream11 : South Group’s leaders Sussex Sharks face off against fourth placed Middlesex in a top of the table clash today

After a hectic and congested Friday in the Vitality Blast, we have a much relaxed Saturday come our way with just the two encounters. That isn’t going to deter the action from the land of the marquee T20 league though with the first clash of the day seeing top 4 sides Sussex Sharks and Middlesex face off against each other.

Perched nicely in the echelons of the South Group, Sussex Sharks have been impeccable in this edition of the league. The side have lost just two encounters till now, seeing their six wins from 11 encounters place them at the top of the league standings, a position they’ll be looking to consolidate after suffering a defeat in the previous encounter.

Coming back from the test format, Sussex found themselves unable to shift to the shortest format, a failure in transition which saw them being put down by 9 runs by Essex. The side faltered in their pursuit of 168, curtailing their run chase at 159-9 with a loss of wickets at regular intervals bludgeoning them at the end of the night.

Elsewhere, Middlesex ended up facing a harrowing defeat as well, a comprehensive trashing by Hampshire which saw them lose by 7 wickets. An AB de Villiers less batting cauldron was unable to get going, folding out for just 128, a petty target which Hampshire were able to cruise past with ease. It’s a performance which they’ll be looking to rectify when they take on a side who they are just two points behind today with w win proving pivotal to their top 4 aspirations.

Pitch Conditions And Toss

One of the newer grounds in the league, cricket over here is sporadic at best, making today’s surface an unknown entity. However given by the matches held here in the course of the year, expect this to be a decent batting surface, one which will help the pacers but that shouldn’t restrain the batsmen from opening their arms.

The side winning the toss should be looking to come out and bat first in this match.

Wicket-Keeper for SUS vs MID Dream11

Alex Carey from Sussex Sharks is our pick for this one. Ever since the World Cup, the batsman has emerged as one of the most well-rounded players in the circuit, someone who has an innate ability to understand the game and use his nous of strokeplay to perfection.

Batsmen for SUS vs MID Dream11

We continue with the selections from Sussex, getting in opener and captain Luke Wright as well given the way he’s heralded in a slew of runs for his side inside the powerplay overs. Fellow opener Philip Salt accompanies him with the two forming an indomitable opening partnership, one which has been instrumental to their consummate success.

Elsewhere from the opposition we have gone in with Dawid Malan after he scored 23 in the previous encounter along with number three bat Stevie Eskinazi.

All-Rounders for SUS vs MID Dream11

With five wickets in the test format, Middlesex’s Toby Roland Jones how menacing his line and length can be with the pacer pitching the ball in all the right areas persistently. It’s a run of form he’s showcased in the Vitality Blast as well and being someone more than capable of coming up with a cameo with the bat as well, he’s our first pick over here. Paul Stirling comes in for us as well for this encounter.

Elsewhere we have gone ahead with the one all-rounder from Sussex, getting in David Wiese who se 66 in 37 balls kept the side alive in their previous encounter. Despite getting no support from the other end, he launched an onslaught, hitting 11 boundaries to take the match to the last over for his side.

Bowling Order for SUS vs MID Dream11

With figures of 2-32 in the last encounter we have gone ahead with left arm pacer Reece Topley from Sussex with hi bound to move the ball away from the right handers, making it a tentative proposition to face off against him.

Middlesex’s frontline pacer, Steve Finn comes in from the side along with legspinner Nathan Sowter as we intertwine pace and spin from the side for this encounter.

Captain And Vice-Captain for SUS vs MID Dream11

Salt is chosen as our captain for today while Dawid is the vice-captain.
