Thank God I got suspended: Draymond Green

The Draymond Green- Kevin Durant saga has been the story of the week in NBA, after Durant slammed Green for his decision making during the last play against Clippers, with Green coming back at him for making the entire thing about him and about his impending free agency.

Since then the duo have played together and have been pictured coming out of practice together as well.

But after the Clippers game, Draymond Green was suspended for having called Durant a bitch in his rant post the final play of the game in regulation time.

But Draymond was indeed a little relieved at having received the suspension as he was recovering from a toe sprain.

“It’s OK. It isn’t great,” Green said speaking about his toe injury.

“But I just don’t like sitting out so if I can play, I’m going to play. They have talked to me about a minute restriction, it makes sense. After playing 42 minutes against the Clippers, it was pretty sore that next day. Thank God I got suspended. Really sore. I sat there and iced the whole day, did some treatment at home. Everything happens for a reason.” he added.

Draymond then went onto speak about the reason for the toe issue and how he was coping with it and how he would approach it in the future.

“No, but it was pretty sore after that,” Green said.

“After such a heavy minute load. So I’ve talked to the training staff, I’ve talked to Steve and that’s obviously game 16 or whatever it is. That’s the smartest thing to do right now. Obviously if I can push through it, I’ll push through it through that game, but it’s just not the time to push through it.

“I do want to play and I do want to be out there with my teammates and I do want to try to find my rhythm. I just really don’t want to sit out. So that’s the next best option for now. We’ll see how it goes.” he added.

Can Golden State recover from this?
