“We have a lot of money”: Pep Guardiola Admits Manchester City Have Benefitted With A Massive Influx Of Cash

The two clubs will be locking heads on Sunday

Despite opening up a colossal 14 point lead atop of the Premier League table, Pep Guardiola is refusing to get swayed ahead of his side’s derby showdown on Sunday.

Where Manchester City have picked up the speed, setting the tone in the league with the club on a 21 match winning spree, Manchester United have floundered in form. Their forthcoming opponents have recorded the sole win in their last five matches, results which have all but put to bed their meek and feeble chances of challenging City for the title.

However, Pep decided to argue otherwise. Speaking ahead of the two sides meeting at the weekend, the City bigwig claimed that his side’s opposition was still very much in with a shot of winning the revered title.

Pep Refuses To Rule Out Manchester United From The Title Challenge

“It’s just one game where the Premier League is 38 games,” Pep said when talking about Manchester United’s chances.

“Of course they are a real contender, second in table. Everybody knows how important it is but all we’re thinking of is the gameplan, to execute it as well as possible and try to win the game.

“They are so strong in all departments. Defensively and in midfield they have quality, then playmaker Bruno Fernandes and the people up front.

“They have speed with James, Rashford, Martial and experience with Cavani, one of the players I admire the most for his career, what he has done.

“But we are going to be ourselves. This is my target, our target – to do what we have done lately. Be ourselves.

“We know the quality they have. We accept every challenge and want to do a good game to win it. ”

“The approach of the team is well known and Sunday will not be an exception.

“During a season you have ups and downs and in that moment we were not in a good moment. but the intention was to try to win the games.”
