TNPL 2019 points table: How does the standings look like after the end of the fifth match of the fourth season of TNPL

The fourth season of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (2019) has got off to a blistering start.

While the first match of the season between Ravichandran Ashwin’s Dindigul Dragons and Chepauk Supper Gillies turned out to be a low-scoring entertainer, we witnessed the first Super Over of the season in only the second match of the season, with Karaikudi Kaalai emerging victorious against the Ruby Trichy Warriors in the one-over affair.

The defending champions, Madurai Panthers literally annihilated the TUTI Patriots in their opening match of the season. They eased off towards the paltry target of 124/8 with 7.4 overs to spare. The man of the previous year’s final- Arun Karthik played a fine knock of 65* off 42 deliveries to guide his team home.

With two wins in two mathes, the previous season’s runner-ups Dindigul Dragons, led by Ravichandran Ashwin is leading the points table at the moment.

Suffering a huge loss on the hands of the previous season’s champions, the TUTI Patriots have been handed a heavy blow to their net run-rate, and are reeling at the bottom of the table.
