TNPL 2019 Team Captains: Who are the captains of Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019 teams?

TNPL 2019 Team Captains: The Sportsrush present before you full list of captain of Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019 teams.

The fourth season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League will begin in less than 24 hours now. The T20 tournament will provide another chance to budding cricketers of the state to put forward their talent and stake a claim for higher-level T20 tournaments.

While the eight team tournament is slated to being tomorrow, the final of the tournament will be played on August 15 in Chennai. Before the tournament begins, let us have a look at the captains of each teams.

TNPL 2019 Team Captains:

Dindigul Dragons

The runners-up of last year’s season will be led by India and Kings XI Punjab off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. In 230 T20s, Ashwin has picked 232  wickets at an average of 24.48, an economy rate of 6.88 and a strike rate of 21.3 including four four-wicket hauls.

Chepauk Super Gillies

The winner of TNPL 2017, Chepauk Super Gillies will be led by India and Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Vijay Shankar. In 78 T20s, Shankar has scored 1,146 runs at an average of 25.46 and a strike rate of 128.04 including four half-centuries. With the ball in hand, Shankar has dismissed 20 batsmen at an average of 40.90, an economy rate of 8.93 and a strike rate of 27.4.

Tuti Patriots

Tuti Patriots will be led by India and Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Washington Sundar. The 19-year all-rounder has scored 406 runs in 43 T20s at an average of 20.30 and a strike rate of 117.68 including a sole half-century. Sundar’s offbreaks have seen him pick 42 wickets at an average of 23.54, an economy rate of 6.86 and a strike rate of 20.5.

Madurai Panthers

The defending champions of TNPL will be captained by Damodaren Rohit, who made his First-class, List A and T20 debut debut for Puducherry in the last domestic season. In seven T20s, Rohit has scored 125 runs at an average of 20.83 and a strike rate of 96.89 including a half-century.

Karaikudi Kaalai

Karaikudi Kaalai will be led by the 33-year old Srikkanth Anirudha. The right-hand batsman has scored 1,257 runs in 71 T20s at an average of 26.18 and a strike rate of 124.57 including seven half-centuries.

Ruby Trichy Warriors

Ruby Trichy Warriors will be led by Baba Indrajith. The 25-year old right-hand batsman has scored 319 runs in 20 T20s at an average of 19.93 and a strike rate of 104.59. Having not played much of T20 cricket, Indrajith would be looking to convert his potential into performance as the leader of the side.

Lyva Kovai Kings

Lyva Kovai Kings will be led by India and Tamil Nadu opening batsman Abhinav Mukund. The 29-year old southpaw has scored 728 runs in 35 T20s at an average of 26.96 and a strike rate of 110.30 including three half-centuries.

VB Kanchi Veerans

VB Kanchi Veerans will be led by Tamil Nadu batsman Baba Aparajith. In 33 T20s, Aparajith has scored 646 runs at an average of 23.92 and a strike rate of 107.30 including a lone half-century.
